Unfortunately Philip believes that gay people who are sodomizing each other are good Christians.

Should Bonhoeffer have spoken out about the oppression of Jewish Germans by the Nazis or remained silent? Should California Christians speak out now about the Transgender Sanctuary State policies of their state government that sterilize minors from other states against the sill of their parents and with California citizens’ tax dollars? Or should they stay silent as you apparently advocate?

I’ve been following Philip Yancy ever since I read What’s so Amazing about Grace. It’s so refreshing to hear a true Christian perspective with biblical principles behind it. So many of the mega churches in Orange County CA are getting involved in the political scene and it’s soooo damaging for the church and it’s witness. I have many family members who view evangelicals as harsh and judgmental. Many big churches don’t come across loving, compassionate and caring as we are called to be. I came out of Calvary Chapel with Chuck Smith back in the 70’s. It was all about love, acceptance and compassion in trying to reach the world and help people turn their lives over to Christ. What happened to that? I always go back to “You will know them by their fruit”. That’s the only test you need to know if someone is truly following Christ and biblical truth.

I will be sending this blog to many of my Christian friends. I’ve never seen the church so divided as in the last 10 years. Politics and church involvement has now separated the church, families and friendships. Thank you for giving so much wisdom and clarity on this topic.

Good points. I think about Dietrich Bonhoeffer and how he was one of the very few that stood up to the Nazis and the majority of the German people, going along with the madness of their day, like many of the people in the West going along with the political winds of our day; what kind of people go along with the murder of millions of unborn human beings, the permanent genital mutilation of children who cannot legally choose such operations, and the grooming and indoctrination of children by transsexuals “just reading them stories?” If people say nothing and keep out of the political arena they are assenting to the evil that is being perpetrated by the state and are complicit.
