Dear Mr. Yancey:

At some point circa 2005, I acquired a copy of The Bible Jesus Read. I began reading/studying it, but set it aside prior to completion.

Fast forward to June 2015. I was preparing to take a trip by air and sought something to read during my travels. My eyes lit onto your book. “Coincidentally”, I was simultaneously making the final tweaks to #TheRevelationDeMystifier. I recognized that June 2015 was an ideal time to finish your book !

You asked 3 questions. I add 2 more –

What is taking so long for Jesus to return the 2nd time ?

What can I do to hasten His return ?

I believe that #TheRevelationDeMystifier answers both questions.

I marvel at the mini and maxi miracles relating to your February 2015 accident. And I understand that it’s likely that you are presently engaged in any number of projects. But I humbly request that you place a review of #TheRevelationDeMystifier onto your To-Do list.

As a lifelong resident of SC, I rarely thought about the “Rebel Flag”. For me, it was simply a symbol of heritage. And then we were discussing recent events in bible study and one of my friends said, “I couldn’t fly the flag in my yard so I don’t think we should continue flyinging it at the statehouse.” She said this because one of her dear neighbors is a lovely couple who just happens to be black. As I thought about what she said, I came to the realization that as “Christians” we are to serve the better good, take the higher ground, sacrifice our freedom for the freedom of others. It was way past time to take it down and I’m very proud of our governor.

T’he power of forgiveness continues to astonish me, even as the intensity of those fanning the flames of hatred breaks my heart. Thank you for another opportunity to reinforce my commitment to staying on the forgiveness side, and being equally willing to pay as needed in my own life’s issues the emotional price these brave South Carolinians paid.

There is Gold on the inside of each person He has created. I feel it’s our call to try to see each person as God sees them, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, to mine the gold in each persons heart.

I want everyone to read this. This is the power of God in Christ indwelling us. This is the salt and light that we are called to be. Yes, “in this world you will have trouble.” But sometimes we omit the rest of what Jesus said. “But take heart! I have overcome the world.” That is the important part, the part we must live by.
