Such a powerful story and description of the power of Jesus’ love to transform us into people that can truly love with His love if we allow it/Him to reside/abide in us (1 John 4:7). The account of Blake and his mom puts my current care-providing into perspective . . . thanks Philip.

This also reminds me of how we should be Christ’s eyes to those around us who are hurting. How many times do we shrink back from the ugliness of life when we should be offering love and hope. The church needs to do better in this area.

I experienced the same with my late, first wife who was stricken by systemic lupus. Nurses thought she was my grandmother as the disease ravaged her body.
But looking through the eyes of my Jesus, I still saw my beautiful bride.
She who led me to Christ and was then about to walk down the aisle to heaven as the bride of Christ.
In the face of death of a loved one, it is truly Jesus’ love that enables the Christ-follower to see beyond the physical.
