Your pre-election comment points to the fact that nothing Trump is doing now is a surprise. 49.8% of voters voted for this eyes wide open,including 80% Evangelicals who should have known better. Mr. Yancey saw this coming like an unstoppable freight train back in 1995 when he wrote in “The Jesus I Never Knew”

Self-proclaimed Christians have gained that desired political power, but in the process they have utterly failed to suppress immorality or restore decency. They write vile comments in comment forums and they exalt the immoral and indecent Trump and his immoral and indecent staff picks.

I’m confused as well why many evangelical Christians would support a presidential candidate who would have love affair with other woman’s husband for years. Moreover, many evangelical Christians would support a President who claims to be a Chathlic but supports abortion.

In some ways, non-Americans may have clearer vision than those of us living through the divisions and propaganda. Keep nudging us.

Please excuse me if I am an unqualified to respond to this, however, I’m baffled by this reaction. What is so blatantly political about the first reader comment? Was there a misleading, biased remark made, or purely factual?
As a NZr it’s been with disbelief watching the behavior and listening to the disparaging words of Trump that he is even allowed to be a candidate.
And even if the first reader comment was blatantly political, why is that so alarming? If only some people had been fearful and politically blatantly could have shared their thoughts before Hitler’s rise to power, many lives would have been saved.
